Schulman Bhattacharya, LLC concluded litigation for its client, famed chef Erik Bruner-Yang, against Mr. Bruner-Yang’s former business partners. The dispute involved the successful Washington, D.C. restaurant ventures Toki Underground, Brothers and Sisters, Maketto, Honeycomb, and Paper Horse. The case, commenced in 2016 in District of Columbia Superior Court, was terminated as it was nearing the end of deposition and document discovery. Mr. Bruner-Yang’s legal team was led by Firm partners Jeremy W. Schulman and Jeffrey S. Gavenman. Mr. Gavenman noted, “We are very pleased to have been able to resolve this case for Erik, which allows him to focus on what he does best: developing cutting-edge restaurant concepts, both locally and around the world.”
